Spring Adventures – Close to Home!

When you live at Stone Hill Meadows, the convenient location off of Route 100 in Lower Macungie Township means that all of the exciting activities in the Lehigh Valley are right at your doorstep.  As the weather warms, we wanted to highlight some of the most exciting festivals and events for you to add to your calendar.  As the third largest metro area in Pennsylvania, the Lehigh Valley offers a wide range of activities and festivals to suit every taste.  And the quiet, country setting of Stone Hill Meadows means that when you’re tired of all the fun you can retreat to your very own beautiful natural sanctuary.  Read below  to learn about what’s happening in our little slice of paradise!


  • Location:  Bear Creek Mountain Resort
  • Date/Time:  Friday, April 5th – Sunday April 7th from 12PM-5PM

Only a ten minute drive from Stone Hill Meadows, Bear Creek Mountain Resort offers fun for all four seasons.  Its annual Spring Wine Festival will feature over 40 vendors offering a variety of food and drink set in a beautiful natural setting.  Live music will be offered in the Lodge and Mountain Ball Room and Friday evening features a live Murder Mystery Dinner to kick off the weekend.  Tickets start at $25 dollars per person in advance or $30 dollars at the door.  Learn more HERE.

Get in the Spring spirit by catching a production Spring Awakening produced by the Lehigh University Department of Theatre.  This 2007 Tony Award-winning Best Musical is based off of the famous banned play from the 1890s and is set to an edgy alt-rock score.  Tackling classic the classic theme of growing up and coming to terms with the world, this show is perfectly suited for a season of growth and change.  Learn more HERE.

  • Date/Time:  Ongoing – Self led

With warmer weather, whip out your smart phones and go on a self-led scavenger hunt through downtown Allentown’s vibrant streets.  Checking off many of the city’s historic buildings, sculptures, and art museums, this scavenger hunt combines fun riddles and covers about 1.2 miles of twists and turns.  Spend the afternoon exploring Allentown and maybe even discover a new favorite place in this ever changing American city.  Learn more HERE.



  • Location:  Allentown Brew Works
  • Date/Time:  April 6th at 10AM

The first of three races in the Earn Your Beer Spring Series, the Brew to Brew 10K is a great way to see the area and sample the offerings of two local breweries.  Starting at Allentown Brew Works and finishing at Bethlehem Brew Works, the Brew to Brew 10K gives all participants a t-shirt, custom pint glass, and two free drinks at the after party (which features live music!).   Registration is $40 dollars and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age group.  Learn more HERE.

Featuring over 9,000 square feet of convention space, the 40th Semi-Annual record expo brings collectors of vinyl records from all over the area.  Over 100,000 records will be for sale in genres from Rock to R&B and everything in between.  For only $3 admission, come find that record you’ve been searching for and meet other like-minded individuals that believe that the world sounds better on vinyl.  Learn more HERE.
